What we collect
Migranto collects only the information necessary to operate the service. When you visit the site, we create a pseudonymous session identifier so that votes, survey answers, or feedback can be associated with your session, along with an approximate location derived from your IP address, including country, city, and time zone. If you use one of the calculators, we store the monthly pay, spending, field of work, and country you entered. If you voluntarily submit an email address, we store it. We do not require names, physical addresses, or payment information to use the service. If you chat with Migo, our AI assistant, the messages you send and the replies you receive are stored, linked to the same pseudonymous session. Please don't include sensitive personal details in chat messages.
Why we collect it
We use this information to operate the product: to remember your activity between visits, respond to questions, and prioritize future features. Figures entered into the calculators are also aggregated across users so we can build our own reference data on typical pay and spending by country and field of work.
Analytics
Our analytics are privacy-first and cookieless, so no cookie-consent banner is needed. We use Umami, hosted in the European Union, which records aggregated, anonymized usage — page views, referring sites, and broad device and country information — without cookies, without storing IP addresses, and without collecting personally identifiable information. We also use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to measure aggregate page views and page performance. None of these tools track you across other websites.
Third-party services
Your data is stored in Supabase, which acts as our data processor. The site runs on Vercel, which handles requests and reads browser signals to tell automated traffic from real visitors. Aggregated analytics and performance metrics are processed by Umami (on servers in the European Union) and Vercel. Beyond these providers, your data is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties. Messages you send to Migo are processed by an external AI model provider solely to generate the reply; they are not used to train AI models.
Retention
We keep data only for as long as necessary to operate the service. Aggregated and anonymized product feedback and calculator inputs may be retained for analytical purposes. Email addresses and identifiable records are deleted on request. Chat conversations with Migo are kept while we operate and improve the assistant and are deleted on request.
Legal basis
We process data based on our legitimate interest in operating and improving the service and, where required, your consent.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, export of, or deletion of data associated with your session or email address. We aim to respond within seven days.
