Living in Turkey

Türkiye has become one of the world's major destinations: about 6.8M foreign-born residents live there, the world's 11th-largest immigrant population, and that count has grown 87% over the past decade. Arrivals are dominated by Syria, which accounts for roughly 3.6M following the war next door, with Iraq and Germany far behind. The inflow makes Türkiye a clear net receiver, even as its own 3.1M-strong diaspora — led by Germany — remains substantial.
