Living in South Sudan

South Sudan's diaspora has grown faster than almost anywhere: the number of South Sudanese living abroad has surged 271% over the past decade to about 3.2M, the world's 25th-largest, a pattern that reflects years of conflict and displacement. Most have gone to neighboring countries — Sudan alone hosts 1.5M, with Uganda and Ethiopia next — and the country still takes in over 900K foreign-born residents, many of them Sudanese.
