Key insights on migration trends, cost of living, visas, economy, and quality of life in Cuba

Migration trends

Cuba's migration runs almost entirely in one direction, toward the United States. About 1.9M Cubans live abroad, and the diaspora has grown 24% over the past decade. Of those, 1.4M are in the United States, dwarfing the next destinations of Spain and Mexico. Inward migration is negligible — just 2,000 foreign-born residents — making this one of the most lopsidedly emigration-defined countries anywhere.
