Living in American Samoa

American Samoa's arrivals come almost entirely from one place. Of the roughly 23.1K foreign-born residents — close to half the population — 15.9K were born in neighboring Samoa, dwarfing the next origins of the United States and Tonga. The foreign-born count has been essentially flat, up just 1% over the decade, making this a settled, single-corridor migration shaped by ties to one neighbor.
